Feeling Like Home...

My mom gave us some really GREAT advice. She said you need to make a few spots in the new house feel like home so you can have some normalcy and can escape from all the renovations and be able to relax and rest without having to look at what's "under construction". That was one of the best things we have done so far! (Thanks Momma ;) I love you!)

I chose to get our "current" Master Bedroom (Which by the way was the original Master Bedroom before the previous owners added the Master Suite) complete for now... It's our SAFE HAVEN!

(I'll post pictures later.)
Also wanted our "current" living room to be some what complete for now too. Which both rooms still need different color paint and all but that's to do later.

I've also found that the whole moving and unpacking process doesn't have to be as bad as what we sometimes make it. I try my best to get one room done at a time instead of having 10 things going on at once which ill tell you that's easier said than done with everything going on in this house! hahaha
I put each box in the room where the contents of that box will go. And then slowly but surely get everything unpacked and organized.

We've had some very sweet family come by to see our home and so many bringing such thoughtful gifts. We are differently blessed with the best.

We both have a very hard time resting/relaxing because we are workaholics. But a few days ago we both hit a wall... And had no choice but to rest. I guess my point to that is cut yourself a little slack. Really if you work another job like Joe does.

I'll update more on what all we have done and add pictures in a day or so...

I hope you all have a fabulous week!

Closing/Moving Day... Our First Night

SOLD, BABY!!!

AT THE CLOSING TABLE

We closed on our home this past Monday June 16, 2014. We started moving that very day... And of course that would happen to be on the HOTTEST day that we've had all year! But to be honest.. It didn't matter. We have been so excited about this day that nothing would have rained on our parade.

Happy to be moving..

But more happy that it will be the last time for awhile!

THANK GOD that Joe knows so much about any kind of home renovations/repairs (Or anything at that... He can seriously do anything!) because we needed it from day 1! We were so grateful that God listened to all our prayers especially for the Air Conditioner to work. We heard from one of the neighbors that it didn't! And since we bought it AS-IS we didn't know until after we closed and had the power turned on. After a really quick/cheap fix it was GOING!!!

Our First Home Together

Come hell or high water we were staying the very first night. So we started setting up our temporary bedroom (will tell more about that later on) We were so tired so we set our mattress and box-springs up on the floor. After all we had done that day we needed showers in a BAD way. I couldn't find my shower curtain hooks but found the curtain liner. We found an old ugly gold curtain rod that was way too big so Mr. Fix EVEYTHING (Joe, the love of my life) went to work bending it in every direction and then asked if I had ribbon. So with a little work bending the rod and stringing the curling ribbon we were taking showers!

Hey, It worked for a few days

til' I found the shower hooks..

ABOUT US

We met in Panama City Beach, FL 11 years ago in April 2003. I was 16 and Joe was 18. Over the last 10 years our paths continued to cross time and time again. In April 2013, We started dating again and have been completely inseparable since. More will be posted about us later on.

We started house hunting about a year ago. Which by the way we found the most amazing Realtor, Amanda Williams (Who actually suggested us do a blog). We were searching for a home that needed renovations since Joe and his dad have a Plumbing and Home Renovation Company. We knew that doing the work ourselves would be the best deal for us for when/if we decide to sell one day.

We are so excited about this journey. It’s a dream we have both had forever to live-in a home while we renovate.

I hope we can share some tips with those out there that are looking to do the same or maybe you can give us some tips. I’m sure we need some!

We hope you enjoy our journey as much as we have already!
